Allow Guest Access for Specific Teams in Microsoft Teams

In this video we explain two ways to deactivate the standard method of adding guests in Microsoft Teams.

Deactivate the standard method of adding guests in Teams

The first method involves using External User Manager to run a web job to deactivate the standard method for all teams. The second method, called Team Guest Access Automation, allows users to restrict adding guests via automation if they are unable to limit the team owners from adding guests due to their circumstances. To set up Team Guest Access Automation, users must navigate to the External User Manager app, select Team Guest Access in the settings tab, and start the conversion process for their teams. Users can exclude teams from the conversion process via a whitelist, and once the process is started, team owners will need to use External User Manager to ask for approval before adding external guests.
